We understand that choosing your child’s educational setting is a decision full of stress and complexity. Early childhood - and early adolescence - are critical developmental times in the life of every child, and as a parent, we can lose sleep over making the "best" possible decisions regarding our child's education.
Our heartfelt mission is to help families breathe a little easier. Our goal is to support, educate, and connect your family with schools that match your individual values, and we also wish to empower you in feeling knowledgeable about the full range of your educational choices. Looking at public, private, charter, or specialized programming, we strive to support all our families in finding a best fit to promote your child’s success within their educational setting -  and do our best to bring you a little piece of mind at the same time.

We serve a wide range of families with a variety of values, needs, and concerns — all with the common goal to support their child's success in school. Please contact us if we can be of any help to you and your family.

We focus on serving families looking for Preschool - Middle School settings in Oakland, Berkeley, WCCUSD, San Leandro, Alameda, and other neighboring districts.

Beyond Quality was founded in 2011 by Theresa Lozac’h, M.A., an experienced educator with over 15 years in the field of education.

Trained and certified in early childhood education, special education, and K-5 elementary education, Theresa has served families and children in a variety of educational settings including public schools, private schools, charter schools, and special education settings from preschool to middle school. (Click here for her full resume or here for her LinkedIn profile).

After choosing a school for her own child and watching friends and colleagues struggle in their own searches, she became passionate about using her expertise and first-hand knowledge of East Bay schools to support families through a confusing and often heart-wrenching decision-making process.

Understanding that each person comes with unique perspectives, talents, abilities, and challenges has enabled Jessica to provide quality care and support to exceptional children and families throughout her career. She has worked in various educational settings including public,  charter, and non-public schools with students in kindergarten through high school.

After having had worked in multiple settings, Jessica realized that many families were dependent on often over-taxed educational institutions to ensure their children were getting their needs met and did not always know how to get support or questions answered when in need. Wanting to advocate for these children and families and to also offer specialized home instruction, Jessica began to collaborate and work with Theresa to assist and work with families in the East Bay.
